Crash Near Capital Beltway Backs Up Traffic For Miles In Maryland: DOT

All northbound lanes were closed on MD-5 near the Capital Beltway on Friday, Oct. 13, following a crash involving a truck that needed to be cleaned up in Prince George's County.

There was a heavy police presence in the area following the crash, which remains under investigation.

Traffic is being diverted onto I-95/I-495, and officials are cautioning that the closure is expected to be lengthy.

It is unclear what caused the crash.
